Stephanie Hoffman, Program Director
Stephanie Hoffman comes to AGE with a Social work Degree from UT Arlington. Since graduation
Stephanie has assisted with victims of 911 tragedy in New York City and has extensive management experience with Legacy Partners out
of Chicago. Stephanie is excited to be at AGE where she can combine her management skills, social work background and personal interest
in supporting seniors as they age.
Barbara Rector, LVN
Barbara has more than 25 years of nursing experience. Her professional
background includes behavioral, geriatric, and hospital nursing as well as working for a physician in an internal medicine and infectious
disease practice. Barbara has worked for Austin Groups for the Elderly at Elderhaven Adult Day Care since 2001.
Melissa Brower,
Activities Director
A recognized community leader in Austin, Ms. Brower has worked diligently with many Central Texas organizations
in creating better choices for the retirement population and their families. Ms. Brower began her work with seniors at The Cottages
at Chandler Creek as Activity Director, Marketing Director and Director of Community Services and Executive Director.
She has
worked closely with the Central Texas Alzheimer’s Association and is currently a caregiver support group facilitator in Round Rock,
Texas area. She has been awarded Outstanding Volunteer for her work with the Austin Police department in which Ms. Brower helped support
a neighborhood cleanup project in a section of town that housed mostly elderly residents.
Ms. Brower graduated from Texas
Tech University with a Bachelor of Sciences degree.
Sara Peralta, Outreach Coordinator
Sara
Peralta, a native Austinite, has returned after completing her undergraduate degree at Agnes Scott College in 2007. Though a recent
graduate, Sara boasts a diverse repertoire of outreach and marketing experience with a number of different non-profit organizations
including the Women's Employment Opportunity Project, Inc, Georgia Close Up, Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta, Refugee Services
of Texas and Agnes Scott College.
Currently, as Outreach Coordinator for Austin Groups for the Elderly, she is passionately
raising awareness about AGE's many programs, including, the Elderhaven Adult Day Centers, the Caregiver's Resource Center, the Lending
Closet and SeniorNet. Additionally, Sara is an active member of the Young Non-profit Professionals Network of Austin in addition to
continuing in her commitment to the community by volunteering with Cancer Connections and the Care Communities.
